Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Aspirant Sathi ("we", "us") collects when you use the Platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to every visitor and registered user.
1. Information we collect
Account information: your name, email address, and (if provided) phone number, when you register or update your profile.
Usage and performance data: the tests, sections and questions you attempt, your answers, scores, time spent, bookmarks, flashcard progress, and referral activity — this is what powers your dashboard, analytics and rank.
Payment metadata: when you subscribe to Premium, Razorpay processes your payment and shares with us only the order ID, payment ID and status needed to activate your subscription. We do not receive or store your card number, UPI ID or bank details — Razorpay's own systems handle those directly.
Technical data: basic device/browser information and IP address, mainly for security (detecting abuse) and debugging.
2. How we use this information
- To create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
- To run tests, score them server-side, and show you your results, analytics, rank and history.
- To activate and manage your Premium subscription.
- To send you account, exam and referral notifications (in-app and, where relevant, email).
- To detect and prevent cheating, abuse of the referral system, and other misuse of the Platform.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
3. Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember preferences like light/dark theme. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
4. Who we share data with
We share the minimum necessary data with:
- Razorpay — to process your Premium subscription payment.
- Our hosting/infrastructure providers — who store the Platform's data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
We don't share your personal data with anyone else except where required by law.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. Payment and invoice records are kept for up to 8 years, as required under Indian tax and accounting law, even after an account is deleted. See our Account Deletion page for what happens when you delete your account.
6. Your rights
You can review and update most of your account information yourself from your Profile page. You can also ask us to:
- Send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and personal data (see Account Deletion).

7. Children's privacy
Aspirant Sathi is intended for exam aspirants generally aged 16 and above. We don't knowingly collect personal data from young children. If you believe a child has created an account without appropriate consent, contact us and we'll act on it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
9. Grievances
If you have a complaint about how we've handled your personal data, write to us at realaspirantsathi@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
